The largest blackwater swamp in North America is just inland, and from there you can trek north through the ever-changing scenery as the landscape transitions from the Coastal Plain to the Piedmont and finally to the Appalachian Mountains. There is plenty of beauty, including rolling farmland, intriguing barns, and stately old trees that have witnessed incredible change since Georgia’s inception in 1788.
