4th Grade, 3rd Place (tie)

It all started when matt moved to Hawaii. He moved over the summer and today August 1st, 2010, was his first day of 4th grade. When he walked into school, he could feel everyone watching him. He got goose bumps all over when he got to class, he could hear from across the room. “Hey new kid what are you doing”. “Shush James” said a girl with a quirky voice. “Hey, I’m Abby don’t let him get to you he just a jerk”. “Hey, I’m matt don’t worry I won’t let him get to me I’m okay with it”. “Okay well do you want to be friends,” said Abby. “Sure” said matt excitedly. “SHHHHHHHHH” matt heard he looked up to see a woman with a stern look on her face everybody quieted down. I’m your teacher Mrs. Laster. She wrote her name on the board. And said, “let get started shall we”.
After school matt walked home with Abby, James and tony. James, tony and matt became friends at recess. They found out they lived in the same neighborhood. After they all went inside, they stayed upstairs until dinner. “Your friends seem very sweet matt,” said Mrs. Carlton. “They are,” said matt. “Let’s eat,” said Mr. Carlton. After they ate matt took a shower and went to bed, but he was awoken by a loud BANG. He looked at the clock and it was 12:00 on the dot but he thought it
was just a coincidence. Until it kept happening repeatedly. One day, he went to the shop and saw a ghost board. He counted the dollars in his pocket, and he had just enough to purchase it. After that he went home.
The next day on the walk home matt told the gang to meet him at his house at 9:00 for a sleepover. “Make sure to bring a sleeping bag, a toothbrush, and a change of clothes”. “OKAY” they said excitedly. When they got there, they were already fed and dressed for bed “come on guys ” matt said as he went up the stairs towards his room. After they got to his room matt pulled the ghost board out from under his bed and said, “I think there is a ghost in my house, “said matt. “OMG” said Abby “Cool” said Tony and James. We need to stay up till 12:00 o’clock at night to talk to him. After a few hours it was 12:00. BANG “AHHHHHH” said everybody but matt. “Okay its time let’s talk to him” said matt as he pulled the board from under his bed. “Why are you here,” said Abby. The board lit up and said I’m not here to hurt anyone, I just want you to notice me. Then who are you”. The bard lit up and said I’m grandpa Carlton. “Ok then why are you scaring us”. I’m here to say goodbye because I didn’t when I died and I’m sorry. So, Goodbye
