Artificial Intelligence (AI) is having a major impact on publishing and the creators who are its lifeblood. AI impacts authors, editors, narrators, translators, publicists, cover artists, reviewers and agents. How does AI work? What are its strengths and weaknesses? The presentation answers with insights from creators who address AI’s potential to help and harm their professions. It also examines AI’s power to alter online publishing marketplaces with an influx of AI-created books and audiobooks. It concludes with an overview of ways the Authors Guild and others suggest creators can ethically use AI to create and promote their work.
