One foggy, chilly morning on October 29, an alien spaceship happened upon planet Earth. The aliens lost one of their engines and plummeted into a pumpkin patch. They decided to get to work fixing the engine on their ship. While they were getting out their tools, some of their special, top-secret “living spray” fell out and rolled deep into the pumpkin patch. The living spray leaked onto a big, lumpy, orange pumpkin. Within seconds, the pumpkin sprung to life, and boy, was he angry! He had been looking forward to becoming a pie, and now he was alive. The angry pumpkin snatched up the living spray and covered his fellow orange friends with the spray. At once, all the pumpkins sprang to life, each one angry and aggravated. They wanted to take over the whole town and turn it into an angry pumpkin sanctuary. If they were not going to be able to be pies, everyone would suffer!
The people in the town were horrified and running frantically to get away from the angry, scary pumpkins. The detective in the town, Bernard, was determined to save the people and places in his little town. While everyone else was fleeing, he went back to the pumpkin patch. There, he found the empty can of living spray. His eyes locked in on the spaceship on the edge of the patch. Bernard also saw one, tiny pumpkin in the corner of the pumpkin patch, looking frightened, not angry. All these pieces, together, he knew could help him to save his town from the angry pumpkins. Bernard and the little pumpkin decided to team up. They found the aliens to let them know what their living spray had done and to see if they had a cure of some sort that could be used to turn the angry pumpkins back to their solid, less angry counterparts. The aliens needed some parts for their spaceship, so Bernard and the tiny pumpkin bravely went into town to find what the aliens needed. As soon as they got back with the parts, the aliens gave Bernard and the tiny pumpkin a can of another kind. The aliens told Bernard to only spray one little drop on each angry pumpkin, and then all would be right again. Bernard and the tiny pumpkin snuck back into town. The pumpkins were taking over everything, destroying the town, and angrily stomping around. Bernard knew he was going to have to be quicker than ever. He gave a wink to the tiny pumpkin, and took off, spraying on each pumpkin as he ran through the streets, jumping on top of cars and spraying everything orange. One by one, the loud, angry roars from pumpkins started to fade. Bernard, and his tiny pumpkin sidekick, had saved Halloween and their town! The aliens repaired their ship and left Earth. Bernard made sure they took all their living spray with them too! No more angry pumpkins attacking!
